Machine-age furniture, industrial lighting and architectural oddities — rescued, righted and rehomed in the Niagara region.
Four corners of the warehouse
Every piece is salvaged, cleaned and catalogued by hand. No reproductions — only the genuinely old, the honestly worn and the quietly wonderful.
We don't sell new things. We give old ones a second life.
Steeltown Salvage began with a simple stubbornness: the conviction that a riveted steel cabinet outlives anything on a flat-pack shelf, and deserves to. We comb estate sales, shuttered factories and farm outbuildings across the Niagara region for pieces with bones worth keeping.
- SourcedHunted out of factories, farms and estates across Niagara.
- RestoredCleaned and stabilised by hand — patina kept, never painted over.
- RehomedSold to people who'll use it. Delivery to the GTA available.

Started with one stubborn cabinet
It began, as these things do, with something that should have gone to the scrapyard. A battered apothecary cabinet, forty drawers deep, hauled out of a closing hardware store. Everyone agreed it was junk. We disagreed — loudly — and Steeltown Salvage was born.
Welland is a working town with a steel heart, and the buildings, factories and farms around it are full of objects built back when "built to last" was simply how things were made. We made it our job to find those objects before the dumpster does.
Today the warehouse on Dorothy Street is part shop, part archive, part rescue operation. Every piece has been somewhere, done something, and earned its keep. We just give it the next chapter.
Three rules of the shop
Patina is not damage
Wear is the record of a useful life. We clean and stabilise — we don't sand away the story or paint over the proof.
Genuinely old, only
No reproductions, no fakes. If we sell it to you as old, it is old. Every lot is sourced and verified by hand.
Things should be used
A salvaged piece belongs in a home or workshop, not behind glass. We rehome to people who'll put it back to work.
From scrap heap to your place
- 01
The Hunt
Estate sales, factory clear-outs, farm auctions. We travel the Niagara region looking for bones worth keeping.
- 02
The Rescue
If a piece has good structure and honest history, it comes home to Dorothy Street — usually filthy, often heavy, always worth it.
- 03
The Work
Cleaned, de-rusted, stabilised, and where needed safely rewired. Restored enough to use, never so much it loses its character.
- 04
The Catalogue
Photographed, given a lot number and a fair price, and listed for the next person who'll appreciate it.
